Established in 1864, Eden Gardens is the first international cricket stadium in India. It is often called the “Mecca of Indian Cricket” or “The Home of Indian Cricket”. It is the third-largest cricket stadium in the world and the second-largest in India with a capacity to host 68,000 spectators. It is operated by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

The first international match was played between India and England in 1934 and the first ODI was hosted in 1987 between Pakistan and India.
